Welcome to One Voice Africa! These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the One Voice Africa platform, including our Library of Knowledge, Advocacy & Awareness initiatives, Community Development programs, and Afrocentric Marketplace (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.
By creating an account, accessing, or using any part of the Services, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are accessing or using the Services on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to these Terms.
Account Creation: To access certain features of the Services, you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
Account Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these obligations.
Prohibited Activities: You agree not to use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in any way that might harm, disrupt, or impair the Services or interfere with any other party's use of the Services.
Content Use: The content provided in the Library of Knowledge is for informational and educational purposes only. You may access, view, and download content for personal, non-commercial use, provided you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices.
Intellectual Property: All content within the Library of Knowledge, unless otherwise stated, is the property of One Voice Africa or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our Services, except as generally permitted by the Services' functionality.
User Submissions: If you submit content to the Library of Knowledge, you grant One Voice Africa a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform that content in connection with the Services and One Voice Africa's (and its successors' and affiliates') business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the Services (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels.
Participation: You may participate in advocacy and awareness campaigns and discussions. You agree to engage respectfully and constructively.
Content Standards: Any content you contribute to advocacy sections must be accurate, not misleading, and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Hate speech, discrimination, harassment, or any form of harmful content is strictly prohibited.
Engagement: Participation in community development programs and initiatives is subject to specific guidelines and agreements related to each program.
Collaboration: We facilitate collaboration, but we are not responsible for the direct actions or outcomes of individual community projects unless explicitly stated.
Buyer and Seller Responsibilities:
Buyers: You are responsible for reviewing product listings carefully, making informed purchasing decisions, and providing accurate shipping and payment information.
Sellers: If you are a seller, you are responsible for the accuracy of your listings, the quality and legality of your products, timely fulfillment of orders, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to your sales.
Transactions: One Voice Africa facilitates the connection between buyers and sellers but is not a party to the actual transaction between them. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of products listed on the Marketplace, nor for the ability of sellers to sell items or buyers to pay for items.
Payment Processing: Payment processing services for sellers on One Voice Africa are provided by third-party payment processors. By using the Marketplace, you agree to be bound by the relevant payment processor's terms of service.
Disputes: Any disputes between buyers and sellers must be resolved directly between them. One Voice Africa may, at its discretion, offer mediation or support in resolving disputes, but is not obligated to do so.
You agree not to:
Post, upload, or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable.
Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
Engage in any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation.
Upload, post, or otherwise transmit any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers or networks connected to the Services, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies, or regulations of networks connected to the Services.
All content on the One Voice Africa platform, including text, graphics, logos, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software, is the property of One Voice Africa or its content suppliers and protected by international copyright laws. The compilation of all content on this site is the exclusive property of One Voice Africa and protected by international copyright laws.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE. ONE VOICE AFRICA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICES OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKE THEM AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
IN NO EVENT SHALL ONE VOICE AFRICA, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (I) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICES; (II) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICES; (III) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICES; AND (IV) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE, AND EVEN IF A REMEDY SET FORTH HEREIN IS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless One Voice Africa and its licensees and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees), resulting from or arising out of (a) your use and access of the Service, by you or any person using your account and password; (b) a breach of these Terms; or (c) content posted by you on the Service.
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Uganda, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Services after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
